THE CHALLENGE
SYNCHRONISED FLOWBOX FOR ENHANCED STORYTELLING
El Corte Inglés (ECI), the leading Spanish department store, wanted to create a magical Christmas story in its window displays for the 2021 festive season. Each of the windows featured a scene in different stages of the day as well as the interior of a home on Christmas night.
The in-house Store Merchandising team at ECI brought Kendu on board to help bring to life the different window displays using Flowbox, the dynamic lightbox. The main challenge? Ensuring that different Flowbox were synchronised within the same window display for a seamless experience.
The Solution
The ECI team and Kendu worked in collaboration to create a series of showstopping window displays. The concept was recreating different scenes from Christmas Eve Day from the early morning to the family gathering all together, to the home at dusk.
Based on the ECI design of four different scenes in four different store windows, Kendu’s in-house digital team animated the different visuals of each Flowbox to create a dynamic fireplace and house window. Both were synchronised to create seamless Christmas display.
Additionally, Kendu installed the different sized Flowbox and by using special bases, they were fitted at three different levels creating both depth and height for the store windows.
