How do we control the quality of our campaigns? Do we know the expected result before printing it? At Kendu, we always aim to provide the best possible result to our clients, but always taking sustainability into account.

Get to know our Prepress and Printing Department. Its duty is to review and retouch orders before they are permanently printed, to achieve flawless, personalized, and sustainable results.

Today, we are taking a look at our factory in San Sebastián to learn more about this department. Join us!

What is the primary purpose of the department?

We are mainly in charge of adapting the images to our products. Thanks to this process, we can ensure the best result when printing the materials without generating waste before obtaining the final product.

“Each brand has specific needs, which are gathered and captured by the Accounts and Design teams”

What process do you follow to reach the final result?

Each brand has specific needs, which are gathered and captured by the Accounts and Design teams. Once we understand what the brand wants to capture, they send us the project so that we can adapt it to the space and product they want.

Despite being divided into departments, collaboration and communication is close and constant. We need each other!

What are the department’s biggest challenges?

Each brand has special requirements and we want to tailor the service as much as possible. Achieving perfect results is challenging, which is why communication with the client must be ongoing. We don’t stop working until they are completely satisfied.

“Human judgment and decision-making mix very well with the precision and automation of machines”

How important is sustainability in this process?

It goes hand in hand with the process. Thanks to our tests, we generate less waste and utilize every inch of material. Nothing is wasted here!

I see that we are surrounded by machines and computers. How does this department coexist with technology?

It makes our work a lot easier. Human judgment and decision-making mix very well with the precision and automation of machines. Like I said before, we do not waste any materials, and that is largely due to the automation of our machinery. Additionally, we reduce printing errors to achieve near-zero waste printing.

Which campaigns require special attention when it comes to the prepress process?

All of them, really. Some campaigns are more complex due to the use of colors. Others are challenging due to the materials used for printing. The most important thing is to take care of every detail and listen carefully to the needs of each brand.

Most campaigns share a common challenge: corporate colors. They require extreme accuracy, so that the brand identity is expressed in every campaign.

Some campaigns require a light box and some don’t. That is another factor that differentiates the work we do. In short, tending to the client’s needs and maintaining communication with them.

Lastly, why choose a company that offers prepress?

In our opinion, there are two main reasons: a selfish reason and a selfless one. The “selfish” reason, so to speak, is that clients can be certain that they will receive the best possible results in their campaigns. Keep the same colors, the size of the campaigns, etc.

As for the selfless reason, I believe that we should all be committed to protecting the environment. It is important to take care of our planet and that starts by working with companies that have a sustainable process. That’s what we do, so I think it is a compelling reason to consider prepress.
