SPAIN’S FIRST EVER RETAIL HUB OPENS ITS DOORS
Kool, Spain’s first ever collaborative hub dedicated to retail and specialising in design, technology and innovation for the sector opened its doors on March 5th. More than 200 people from the retail sector, including leading brands and industry professionals, attended the opening. A unique space located in the heart of Madrid’s CBD, Kool is founded on a clear goal: to be the meeting point in the co-creation of the future of retail.
A Kendu initiative, the hub concept revolves around forming a community made up of brands, leading companies, new talent and entrepreneurs of the retail sector to foster networking, develop new disruptive projects and generate sales opportunities. Kool is a vibrant and innovative retail ecosystem backed by the expertise of its founding members; Kendu, Sempere, Ilumisa and the Spanish Association of Retail (AER).
Located just off Gran Via, in the trendy neighbourhood of Malasaña, Kool features three unique spaces:
– Collaborative Showroom: Different companies and brands can present their latest solutions, test new product lines or showcase demonstrations in the collaborative space.
– Coworking Area: Shared desks and meeting areas that encourage collaboration and creativity amongst freelancers and start-ups together with the founding members.
– Skool: An educational institution within Kool operated by the sector’s leading experts, including Twenty2 Lab, with a range of short courses, workshops and tours on offer.
Madrid is just the beginning of Kool as the concept will soon be expanded internationally to leading European cities beginning in London before launching in Paris and Barcelona, creating a network of interconnected retail hubs.
